Madras Week Nostalgia: The Marina of 1890


We all know how the Marina Beach looks like. But how did it look more than a century ago? Well, here's a picture taken in 1890. The building in the background must be Presidency College. How times have changed! Here's a tribute to the Madras of old.

Why did population go up? We still would have had the old charm if not for so many hundreds of people.
